MANAGEMENT STUDY PROGRAM – SERPONG CAMPUS INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO PT. SINAR SOSRO “TEH BOTOL SOSRO: FROM LOCAL TO GLOBAL”
On Friday, November 15, 2024, the Excellent Community of Management (XCM) proudly hosted an Industrial Visit to PT. Sinar Sosro, located on Jalan Raya Teuku Umar, Cibitung, under the theme “From Local to Global.”
This visit aimed to bridge the gap between classroom theories and real-world practices, offering participants insights into workplace dynamics, cutting-edge technology, and current industry trends. Through this experience, students gained a clearer understanding of the opportunities and challenges within the sector, while also refining essential skills such as communication and teamwork. By witnessing the company’s innovations and successes firsthand, students were inspired to strive for academic excellence and prepare themselves for future careers.
The event was attended by 51 management students accompanied by their faculty advisor, Mrs. Christy Ayu Sarah Panjaitan, S.E., M.M. Activities commenced at 10:45 AM with participants gathering at UBM Tower. After registration and distribution of refreshments, the group boarded the bus, departing at 11:25 AM.
Engaging Games on the Road
During the journey, participants enjoyed a lively atmosphere with games like “Guess the Song,” “Charades,” and a quick quiz session, all facilitated by event organizer Cresia Dwiyanti Goutama. Winners were rewarded with packs of biscuits, adding a touch of excitement to the trip.
The group arrived at PT. Sinar Sosro at 1:55 PM, where they were warmly welcomed with complimentary beverages, including Sosro bottled tea and Fruit Tea.
An Inspiring Company Visit
The event officially began with an opening speech from PT. Sinar Sosro representatives, followed by remarks from Mrs. Christy Ayu Sarah Panjaitan. Participants then watched an informative video detailing the company’s history and production processes.
Guided tours followed, allowing students to observe various production stages firsthand—from sugar processing machines to packaging lines—providing a deeper appreciation of the intricacies involved in the manufacturing process.
Insights from Industry Experts
The highlight of the visit was an engaging session led by Mr. Denny Yosep, Training & Development Manager at PT. Sinar Sosro. With the theme “Management Trainee,” he shared valuable insights into opportunities for joining the company directly in managerial roles, bypassing non-managerial positions. A lively Q&A session followed, where participants enthusiastically posed their questions.
The event concluded with a token of appreciation presented by Mrs. Christy Ayu Sarah Panjaitan to the speaker, followed by closing remarks from PT. Sinar Sosro’s representatives.
A Memorable End to the Journey
Before heading back, participants took a group photo in the lobby of PT. Sinar Sosro. At 4:55 PM, they boarded the bus, completing the attendance process before departing for UBM Serpong Campus.
