On Thursday, November 16, 2023, three research teams from the Management Study Program at Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) Ancol participated in “The 12th International Conference On Entrepreneurship And Business Management (ICEBM) 2023: Strategic Entrepreneurship: Driving Innovation and Growth in the Digital Era.” Universitas Bunda Mulia served as a co-host for this hybrid event.
The event began with a traditional dance performance, the Indonesian national anthem, and a report from the event’s organizing committee chair, Dr. Hetty Karunia Tunjungsari.
This was followed by opening speeches from Prof. Dr. Sofyan Anif, M.Si., Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., from Yayasan Tarumanagara, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., IPU., ASEAN Eng., Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara.
Next, the keynote speeches were delivered by Dr. Mothilal De Silva, CEO and Co-Founder of Internet Plus Asia, Sri Lanka; Prof. Andriew Lim from Hotelschool the Hague, Netherlands; and Dr. Linda Lin-Chin Lin, Director of the B.A. Degree Program in Micro Business Management at Khun Shan University, Taiwan.
After the keynote speeches, the event moved to the Plenary Session, presented by Prof. Dr. Lai Yin Ling from INTI International University Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Anton Agus Setyawan, M.Si. from Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, and Didi Widya Utama, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., who moderated the session.
The core session followed, which involved the presentation of research papers by the research teams. Three research teams from the Management Study Program of UBM Ancol presented their papers during Session 2, which took place from 3:15 PM to 5:15 PM.
Team 1, consisting of Mr. Andreas Wijaya, SE., MM., Mrs. Tannia, SE., MM., Handoko, Juan Matthew Karsten, and Steven Jonathan Salim, presented their research titled “The Effect of Authentic Leadership on Turnover Intention Mediated by Work Engagement in the Service Sector.” The presentation began with Handoko covering the introduction and objectives of the study, followed by Steven Jonathan Salim who explained the variables and their relationships in the study, including the framework. Finally, Juan Matthew Karsten concluded by presenting the results and conclusions of the research.
Team 3 presented next, with their study titled “The Influence of Servant Leadership on Employee Performance with Perceptions of Organizational Support as Mediator.” Richard Ng began the presentation with the introduction, objectives, variables, research framework, and model of the study. Vincent Colin followed by presenting the test results and concluded the session with the findings and conclusions of the study.
Team 2, consisting of Mr. Andreas Wijaya, SE., MM., Mrs. Sophia Reni Susilo, SE., MM., Mrs. Lelly Christin, SE., MM., Wily Dozen, Silvani, and Putri Cecilia, presented their research titled “The Influence of Transactional Leadership on Work Engagement with Organizational Commitment and Work Motivation.” Putri Cecilia opened the presentation with the introduction and objectives of the research, followed by Wily Dozen who explained the variables, relationships, and hypotheses. Silvani then discussed the results and concluded the presentation, which also marked the end of the event.
After attending ICEBM 2023, it is hoped that the Management Study Program students’ research and presentation skills will improve, enabling them to present their research at other international conferences in the future.
