Jakarta, February 6, 2025 – The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (Kanwil DJP) North Jakarta officially inaugurated 35 students as Domestic Tax Volunteers (RENJANI) 2025 in a ceremony held at The UBM Seminar Room, Universitas Bunda Mulia. This program aims to equip volunteers with a deeper understanding of taxation, particularly in assisting taxpayers with the filing of their Annual Personal Income Tax Returns. The event also serves as a tangible form of synergy between academia and tax authorities in raising tax awareness among the public.
The event commenced at 1:00 PM WIB with a registration session, followed by an opening by the Master of Ceremonies and the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya. The first speech was delivered by Dr. Ernie Riswandari, S.E., M.Si., representing the university, who expressed appreciation to Kanwil DJP North Jakarta for this initiative, which provides students with the opportunity to be directly involved in tax education. The next speech was given by Mrs. Donna, a representative from Kanwil DJP North Jakarta, who emphasized the crucial role of Tax Volunteers in helping the public understand and fulfill their tax obligations.
The highlight of the event was the official inauguration of the volunteers, marked by the symbolic presentation of souvenirs by Mrs. Donna, the university representative, and the Head of the Service Section of Kanwil DJP North Jakarta to two representatives of the volunteers. This moment signified the starting point for the students of RENJANI 2025 to contribute to tax education programs for the community.
Following the inauguration session, the volunteers received training through a seminar delivered by tax educators. The first session provided an Overview of RENJANI 2025, explaining the role and responsibilities of tax volunteers in supporting tax education for the public. The second session covered Annual Personal Income Tax Returns, detailing the procedures for filing annual tax returns for individual taxpayers. The third session focused on Gratification Control and Communication Skills, emphasizing the importance of maintaining integrity and improving communication skills when educating the public about taxes. This session also included an interactive discussion and a Q&A segment to ensure participants fully understood the material.
The event concluded with a tax education survey and a group photo session, marking the beginning of the RENJANI 2025 Tax Volunteers’ journey in making a real contribution to society. Through this program, it is hoped that the volunteers will become agents of change in improving tax compliance in Indonesia and raising public awareness of the importance of taxes as one of the pillars of national development.
