Did you know? On Thursday, May 30, 2024, the Universitas Bunda Mulia Distant Learning (PJJ) Management Study Program held a public lecture presented by Mr. Nikolas William Setiawan, Retail Operation Manager at PT. Asia Bandar Alam, and Mr. Elkunny Dovir Siratan, S.Par., MM, as the MC and moderator.
This lecture was conducted online, and focused on the retail industry with the title Operation Control in Retail Business. It discussed various aspects of retail operations, where a deep understanding of operations and operational control in retail businesses becomes critical. Topics included the important aspects of controlling retail business operations, such as inventory management, supply chain management, quality control, service management, and operational control.
The lecture began at 6:30 PM WIB and was opened by Mr. Elkunny Dovir Siratan, S.Par., MM, as the MC and moderator. The event started with the national anthem Indonesia Raya, followed by the UBM March, a welcoming speech from Mrs. Tannia, SE., MM, Head of the Distance Learning (PJJ) Management Study Program at Universitas Bunda Mulia Ancol, and a reading of the speaker’s CV, Mr. Nikolas William Setiawan, Retail Operation Manager at PT. Asia Bandar Alam.
The purpose of the lecture on the retail industry was due to Mr. Nikolas’s extensive experience in retail, with 11 years of involvement (2013-2024). The discussion began with the definition and importance of operations as the core of retail business, followed by changes in customer behavior that require retailers to move towards digital solutions. He also emphasized the vital role of human resources as an irreplaceable support for retail operations.
Mr. Elkunny also invited all participants to join the Q&A session during the public lecture, where the participants actively asked questions related to the retail industry or challenges faced by them. The Q&A session was very interactive, as seen in the chat column and responses from the participants to the speaker, with all questions being answered well and smoothly. Therefore, the event titled Operation Control in Retail Business was successfully held.
