On April 19th, 2025, the Management Study Program of Universitas Bunda Mulia, Serpong Campus, held a general lecture titled “The Role of Employment Contracts in Compliance with Labor Regulations.” The event took place in the Lecture Hall on the 5th floor of Alfa Tower from 1.30 PM to 5.10 PM. A total of 81 participants attended the lecture, consisting of students enrolled in the Conflict Management and Industrial Relations course (MNG17).
The guest speaKer for this lecture was Mr. Roy Sitepu, who serves as the Head of Human Capital Sustainability & General Services at a company engaged in printing, technology, and digital transformation in Indonesia. The event was moderated by Mr. Chandra Hosen, S.E., M.M., M.T., a lecturer in the Management Study Program at Universitas Bunda Mulia.
The public lecture was opened by Yorisa, a 4th-semester student, who acted as the MC. The event began with the singing of the national anthem Indonesia Raya and the Universitas Bunda Mulia hymn. This was followed by an opening speech from Dr. Ika Pratiwi Simbolon, S.E., M.M., Secretary of the Management Study Program at Universitas Bunda Mulia, Serpong Campus. Afterwards, the MC introduced the moderator, who then introduced the speaker to the participants.
The lecture covered topics including Industrial Relation Management, the legal basis of employment contracts, types of employment agreements and collective labor agreements, as well as industrial disputes. The speaker explained the two types of employment contracts: Fixed-Term Employment Agreement (PKWT) and Permanent Employment Agreement (PKWTT). He also elaborated on the common causes of disputes within companies and shared insights on conflict resolution management in the workplace.
The material was delivered in a way that was easy for participants to understand. The speaker also presented case studies for discussion, which boosted participant engagement, especially during the Q&A session. Students actively asked questions, which the speaker addressed in a detailed and comprehensible manner. The moderator guided the session effectively, making the discussion focused and informative.
As a token of appreciation, Dr. Ika Pratiwi Simbolon, S.E., M.M., presented a Token of Appreciation to both the speaker and the moderator for their willingness to share their knowledge and contribute to the success of the public lecture. The event concluded with a group photo session and the MC expressing gratitude to all participants for their attendance.
The general lecture “The Role of Employment Contracts in Compliance with Labor Regulations” was carried out smoothly and successfully.
