Jakarta, March 21, 2025 – The Student Association of the Hospitality & Tourism Study Program at Bunda Mulia University proudly announces the successful organization of the workshop titled “Crisis Management in the Aviation Industry.” The event was attended by 63 students from the 2nd and 4th semesters with a focus on Leisure and Event Management, who showed great enthusiasm in participating in every session presented.
The workshop began with participant registration and an opening by the MC, followed by the singing of the Indonesian National Anthem and the UBM March. In his remarks, a representative from the study program emphasized the importance of crisis management in the aviation industry, especially in this challenging era.
The first session of the workshop was led by Farshal Hambali, Country Manager of Malaysia Airlines Indonesia, who provided in-depth insights into the fundamental concepts of crisis management, including risk identification and recovery strategies. Participants were very active during the Q&A session, demonstrating a high level of interest in the topics discussed.
Subsequently, participants were divided into small groups for a practical session, where they could apply the knowledge they had gained in simulated situations. The second session again provided valuable information regarding the role of technology and innovation in crisis management, which is highly relevant to the current developments in the aviation industry.
Participant evaluations showed that the average score for the benefits of the material for participants was 3.88, with 83.33% of participants rating it as good or very good. Evaluations of the instructor/speaker also showed positive results, with an average score of 3.90 for their mastery of the material.
The event concluded with the presentation of a Token of Appreciation to Farshal Hambali as a form of gratitude for his contributions, followed by a group photo session to commemorate the valuable moments.
Overall, this workshop not only provided theoretical knowledge but also valuable practical experience for participants, preparing them to face challenges in the aviation industry in the future. This event is expected to be a stepping stone for students to develop essential crisis management skills in their careers in the Hospitality and Tourism sector.
