Ancol, October 14, 2024 – Universitas Bunda Mulia Ancol, through the Management Study Program, collaborated with PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk. (Alfamart), one of the leading retail companies in Indonesia, to organize a workshop on a research study on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs at Alfamart. This workshop was aimed at disseminating the research results carried out by two Management lecturers from Universitas Bunda Mulia, Dr. Siti Yasmina Zubaedah and Dr. Hans Harischandra Tanuraharjo.
This was conveyed during the event titled “Workshop on Sustainability Practices for Retailers” which was successfully held on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 13:00 to 15:30 WIB at Alfa Tower and attended by 21 Alfamart employees representing various divisions. The event began with opening introductions and a brief prayer, followed by a speech by Mr. Solihin as the Director, who provided an introduction to the research topic. After that, the presentation started with a discussion on Green Retailing and Sustainable Practices by Dr. Hans Harischandra Tanuraharjo. The workshop continued with Dr. Siti Yasmina Zubaedah discussing ESG Reporting and the research results that had been carried out.
This presentation aimed to discuss the research results conducted by Mr. Hans Harischandra and Mrs. Yasmina regarding ESG reporting carried out by Alfamart as part of their annual report published to the public. In addition to the research results, the workshop aimed to broaden the stakeholders’ understanding at Alfamart about the development and implementation of ESG reporting. Moreover, through discussions during the workshop, it was found that there is a need for standardization in the application of reporting methods to consistently demonstrate contributions to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Through this research dissemination, the workshop became a discussion forum, combining academics and practitioners, to help improve Alfamart moving forward.
After the presentation session, a Q&A session was held to provide an opportunity for participants to interact with the speakers. The discussions were very conducive, and the analyzed data was confirmed, leading to the identification of some information that needed to be corrected. This is one of the advantages of conducting workshops for research dissemination like this. The event then concluded with a feedback session, documentation, and expressions of gratitude.
Universitas Bunda Mulia Ancol is committed to continuously encouraging the implementation of sustainability principles in various sectors, including the retail industry. Through the Management Study Program, Universitas Bunda Mulia Ancol hopes that this event will inspire retail industry players to become more environmentally conscious and gain a higher understanding of the importance of sustainability in conducting business.
