On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, the Management Study Program conducted a Community Service (PKM) activity, presented by Mr. Alexander Robert, BA., MSc, and accompanied by Wily Dozen (12220080), Josua Jayakusuma (12220032), Nicholas Andrew Tanimihardjo (12220150), Kevin Febrian Kusnadi (12220051), and Ivenna Jovita Rumayar (12220065), who are active students of the Management Study Program, Semester 5.
In this PKM activity, a more detailed discussion on stocks was held, aimed at enhancing the participants’ knowledge. The PKM began at 09:00 AM WIB and was opened by Mr. Alexander Robert. At the beginning of the discussion, Mr. Alexander Robert, as the speaker, provided an outstanding presentation on stocks, which captured the participants’ interest and kept them engaged. After Mr. Alexander Robert’s presentation, the next session was taken over by 5 students from the Management Study Program, who acted as Stocklab bankers. Stocklab is a stock simulation game.
In this Stocklab, students are introduced to various types of stocks and are taught how to play the game. Stocklab teaches students how to create strategies for investing. Students can choose strategies to diversify their stocks or opt to focus on one stock only for investment. The students were divided into 5 groups, each led by one student. The bankers began the game by introducing themselves, followed by an explanation of the rules and how to play Stocklab.
Once the students understood, they immediately practiced and played the Stocklab game. The students appeared to enjoy the game very much and competed to outdo their peers with their individual strategies. Before long, the game ended, and the winners were determined from each group. The winners seemed very happy, while the students who did not win were excited to play the game again.
However, time had run out, and the students were asked to return to their seats. Finally, the PKM session was closed with a documentation session. It is hoped that the PKM titled “Stock Simulation – Stocklab” can help all participants to gain a deeper understanding of stocks, the Stocklab simulation, and strategies for selecting stocks and dividing investments.
