On Saturday, May 18, 2024, the Management Study Program of Universitas Bunda Mulia held a virtual Adjunct Professor session conducted in a hybrid format with the theme “Managing Innovation and Fostering Corporate Entrepreneurship.” The topic was delivered by Prof. Dr. Philip J. Steinberg, an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen, Netherlands. This event was attended by students taking the MNC37 Strategic Management course, along with all the lecturers of the course.
The event began at 1:30 PM WIB, with Mr. Elkunny Dovir Siratan, S.Par., MM, one of the lecturers of the MNC37 Strategic Management course, opening the session, followed by the material presentation. Prof. Philip’s presentation included an overview of innovation, methods for managing it, types of innovation, and its application in real companies. He further elaborated on the stages of innovation, both product and process, as well as corporate strategies for implementing innovations. Additionally, he discussed corporate entrepreneurship aimed at creating new value for companies through investments that generate new sources of competitive advantage or renew value propositions, complemented with examples from real industry environments.

Following Prof. Philip’s presentation, the Q&A session was facilitated by Mr. Elkunny Dovir Siratan, S.Par., MM, allowing students from the Ancol and Serpong campuses to ask questions alternately. The questions posed by the students were sharp and included real-world industry issues. Prof. Philip provided highly comprehensive answers to each question.

The Q&A session was followed by a group photo session and the presentation of a Token of Appreciation (TOA) to Prof. Dr. Philip J. Steinberg as the speaker for the three sessions of the 2024 Adjunct Professor program. With the successful implementation of this Adjunct Professor event, it is hoped that students’ knowledge of strategic management will be broadened, especially regarding innovation strategies within corporate environments and entrepreneurship, thanks to the insights from an internationally experienced speaker.
