Jakarta, May 3, 2025 – The Student Activity Unit (UKM) iCare of Bunda Mulia University Ancol Campus held a Free School activity at Sekolah dan Sanggar SAJA, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. The event carried the theme “Free Education, A Dream’s Starting Point” and was enthusiastically attended by local children.
The program was fun and engaging with a learn-through-play approach. The children were taught about the Four Magic Words: Excuse Me, Sorry, Please, and Thank You – simple yet essential phrases to nurture politeness and empathy from an early age.
Next, they joined the How to Reach Your Dreams session with Mr. Manongga Bryan Christian, S.E., M.M., who encouraged the children to dare to dream, never give up, and keep striving in order to achieve their goals.
The children also practiced self-introductions in English, accompanied by fun mini-games to boost their confidence and language skills. Due to the children’s enthusiasm, additional material on greetings in Mandarin Chinese was also provided. The response was very positive, as Mandarin felt new and exciting to them, creating a curious and energetic learning atmosphere.
To liven things up, the children danced the “Chicken Dance” as an icebreaker, helping build excitement and engagement. They also took part in a craft activity by painting on pencil cases, aimed at fostering creativity, improving fine motor skills, and building pride in their own creations.
Thanks to thorough preparation, the entire event ran smoothly and received an enthusiastic response from the children. We would like to express our gratitude to all parties who supported this activity and to the iCare committee for their hard work in making the event a success.
We hope similar activities can continue to be held in other locations, so more children around the Universitas Bunda Mulia community can benefit educationally from programs like this.
