Tangerang, August 26, 2026 – The Faculty of Technology and Design, Bunda Mulia University (UBM) Serpong Campus successfully held INSPIRE (Informatics, Systems, Programming, Innovation & Research Expo) 1.0 , a series of activities that combined technology competitions, student innovation exhibitions, and seminars in one activity. Carrying the theme “Innovating Beyond Code – Technology for Meaningful Impact,” INSPIRE 1.0 is present as a forum for students to develop and demonstrate technological innovations that are not only superior from a technical perspective, but also relevant and able to provide benefits to real problems in society. INSPIRE 1.0 is designed to encourage students to see technology more broadly than just coding skills. Students are challenged to integrate skills in technology development, systems thinking, data analysis, creativity, problem solving , and understanding user needs. Through this activity, students also get the opportunity to develop their skills in designing, implementing, and presenting technology-based solutions in a structured and communicative manner. The INSPIRE 1.0 series consists of three main activities, namely the INSPIRE Competition, INSPIRE Innovation Expo, and INSPIRE Talk . The INSPIRE Competition competes in three categories, namely the Software Development Competition, Business Plan Competition, and Dynamic Data Visualization Competition . This competition was successfully participated by 38 teams from eight provinces , consisting of 19 teams in the Software Development Competition, 9 teams in the Business Plan Competition, and 10 teams in the Dynamic Data Visualization Competition. The participants went through a number of stages starting from submitting proposals, selection, developing work, to presentations and final assessment by the jury.

In addition to the competition, INSPIRE 1.0 presents the INSPIRE Innovation Expo as a space for students to showcase and introduce the work and innovations they have developed. The Expo is held in the 10th Floor Hallway area of Bunda Mulia University, Serpong Campus and provides an opportunity for visitors to see the work directly, interact with student developers, and provide appreciation through voting for the People’s Choice Award . This activity becomes a space for interaction and exchange of ideas between students, lecturers, and visitors regarding various technology-based solutions and innovations.

As part of the main event, INSPIRE 1.0 also presented INSPIRE Talk with Teguh Santoso, Channel Manager Sea Market Access from PT Rockwell Automation . The seminar, held at The UBM Lecture Hall, Serpong Campus , was attended by 188 participants , both onsite at the Serpong Campus and online from the Ancol Campus and external participants. Through this seminar, participants gained insight into technological developments and the importance of creating innovations that can provide real impact. The enthusiasm of the participants was also seen through interactions and discussions with the speakers during the activity.

Through the implementation of INSPIRE 1.0, Bunda Mulia University continues to encourage the creation of an academic environment that is not only oriented towards mastery of theory and technical skills, but also on the courage of students in exploring ideas, collaborating, and producing work that has the potential to make an impact. The presence of students from various universities in the competition also makes INSPIRE a space to build collaboration and a broader spirit of innovation. INSPIRE 1.0 is expected to be the first step in building sustainable technological innovation activities at Bunda Mulia University. With the spirit of “Innovating Beyond Code – Technology for Meaningful Impact,” INSPIRE is expected to continue to develop into a forum for students to learn, compete, innovate, and inspire through technology , while generating various ideas and solutions that provide real benefits to society.
