Lecturers’ Workshop Discusses Strategies for Writing Scientific Articles for Reputable International Journals

Saturday, June 13, 2026 – A Lecturer Workshop entitled “Strategies for Writing Scientific Articles for Reputable International Journals” was held in Room 201 UBM Ancol Campus from 9:00–12:00 WIB. This activity was attended by 9 permanent lecturers from the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program as part of an effort to increase academic capacity in the field of scientific publications. This activity presented Prof. Usep Suhud, Ph.D. from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Jakarta State University as a resource person. In his presentation, the resource person conveyed strategies for writing scientific articles in accordance with the standards of reputable international journals, starting from compiling article structures, formulating novelty, identifying research gaps, to strategies for developing manuscripts towards the submission process.

This workshop was held in response to the importance of international scientific publications for strengthening lecturers’ academic track records, improving research quality, and expanding scientific contributions at the global level. Through this activity, lecturers are expected to be able to write scientific articles that are more systematic, argumentative, and in accordance with the character of the target journal. The series of activities began with participant registration, followed by an introduction to the objectives of the workshop by the committee, then a presentation of the main material by the resource person. The discussion and question and answer session was active. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions related to journal selection, scientific argumentation development, reference management, and strategies for dealing with the article review process. Through this activity, participants are expected to have a stronger understanding of the principles of writing scientific articles for reputable international journals. In addition, participants are also directed to compile an article outline or a list of manuscript improvements that can be followed up towards the submission process. This workshop activity is one of the institution’s steps in strengthening an academic culture based on measurable, productive, and quality scientific publications.
