Tangerang, May 16, 2026 – Sotthi Hotu, Namo Buddhaya, Namo Amitofo The Buddhist Student Family (KMB) of Bunda Mulia University (UBM) Serpong Campus held a Mindfulness Training activity on Saturday, May 16, 2026 with the theme “Meditation for the Mind, Peace for the Heart” . This activity is a means for students to train self-awareness, inner peace, and improve the quality of life through mindfulness and meditation practices. In addition, this activity was held as a form of support for students to be able to maintain mental health, increase focus, and build balance between thoughts and emotions amidst the busyness of lectures and daily activities.

This Mindfulness Training activity was led directly by Venerable Bhante Bhadraprana, who provided a deep understanding of the importance of practicing self-awareness in everyday life. Through this activity, participants were encouraged to understand the importance of living mindfully in every activity. Not only focusing on theory, but the Mindfulness Training also provided hands-on practical experience so participants could experience the benefits of mindfulness in their daily lives.

The series of activities began with an opening session and an introduction to mindfulness and its benefits for daily life. In this session, Venerable Bhadraprana explained that mindfulness is the ability to be fully present in the present moment with full awareness. Participants were also given an understanding of the importance of maintaining inner calm, practicing focus, and better recognizing emotions and thoughts in order to deal with various life situations more wisely. After the introductory session, the activity continued with a sitting meditation practice. In this session, participants were invited to sit in a comfortable position while focusing on their breathing. Participants learned to observe their breaths in and out, become aware of their thoughts, and train themselves to stay focused on the present moment. The quiet atmosphere of the room helped participants relax and gradually experience inner calm during the meditation process. The activity then continued with a standing meditation practice. In this session, participants were invited to practice awareness of their body position while standing and to feel their balance with full attention. Next, participants participated in a walking meditation practice. In this session, participants walked slowly while focusing on each step they took. Participants were encouraged to be fully aware of the movement of their feet, the rhythm of their steps, and the sensations of their bodies as they walked.

Furthermore, the activity also included a tea meditation practice. In this session, participants were invited to enjoy a cup of tea mindfully and slowly. Participants learned to pay attention to the tea’s aroma, taste, temperature, and every step of the process while drinking tea without rushing. Through this practice, participants understood that mindfulness can be applied to simple daily activities, including eating and drinking. During the session, participants were also given the opportunity to reflect and share experiences. In this session, several participants shared their experiences during the mindfulness practice and the benefits they experienced.

Through this activity, it is hoped that participants will not only gain new experiences regarding mindfulness and meditation, but also be able to apply these self-awareness practices in their daily lives, whether in lectures, organizational activities, or personal life. Finally, we, KMB Dhammamitta, say Sabbe Satta Bhavantu Sukhitatta . May all beings be happy. Sadhu… Sadhu… Sadhu… Sotthi Hotu, Namo Buddhaya Namo Amitofo
