On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the Management Study Program at UBM Serpong Campus held a public lecture with the theme “Sustainable Branding in Retail: Integrating Operational and Brand Practices”. Located at The UBM Lecture Hall, the event, which took place at 09.00–11.00 WIB, was attended by 60 4th and 6th semester students. The resource person in this public lecture was Yongki Surya Susilo as an Indonesia Retail and Consumer Goods Expert. The event was opened by Meilysia, a second semester student who acted as Master of Ceremony (MC). The agenda then continued with singing the song Indonesia Raya and the Mars of Bunda Mulia University (UBM), followed by remarks from Dr. Ika Pratiwi Simbolon, SE, MM, CMM. Entering the core of the event, the MC introduced the moderator at the public lecture, Mr. Budi Christanto, SE, B.Bus., MM, who then guided the event and introduced the resource person to all participants. This public lecture discussed building a retail that is not only famous but also sustainable.
The material presented includes middle class stories , the evolution that occurs in the retail industry, building brand equity in retail, brand health and no less important is sustainable growth. After the presentation of the material, it was continued with a question and answer session. The participants enthusiastically asked various questions, such as the speaker’s views on AI towards retail, estimates of retail dominance amidst the onslaught of e-commerce and to these questions the speaker provided detailed but still easy to understand answers.
After the question and answer session, the event then continued with the awarding of Tokens of Appreciation by Mrs. Dr. Ika Pratiwi Simbolon, SE, MM, CMM to the speakers and moderator for their contributions and participation in the activity. At the end of the event, it was closed with a group photo session, and the MC expressed his gratitude to all participants who had attended and participated in this public lecture activity.
