Jakarta, January 30, 2026 — The Bunda Mulia University Master of Management Study Program held a Public Lecture for Master of Management students on Friday, January 30, 2026, as part of strengthening students’ academic and practical understanding of business dynamics in the digital era. This activity raised the topic “Building Ethical Business Models in the Digital Era: A Strategic Approach to Resource Management ,” which is relevant to the challenges and needs of today’s business world.

This public lecture presented Prof. Dr. Yolanda Masnita Siagian, MM, CIRR, CMA, CPM (Asia), Professor of Management and researcher, as the main speaker. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Velly Anatasia, SE, MBA. This activity is part of the enrichment of the Digital Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship Course which aims to equip students with strategic insights in building and managing digital businesses in an innovative, ethical, and sustainable manner. This public lecture was held interactively and received a very positive response from students. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident from the many critical questions, responses, and discussions that developed during the session. Students considered the material presented relevant to the current digital business conditions, applicable, and opening new insights, while the resource person was considered capable of conveying strategic concepts clearly, inspiringly, and based on academic and research experience. In her presentation, Prof. Dr. Yolanda Masnita Siagian emphasized that the rapid development of digital technology has encouraged the birth of various new, innovative business models, but also presents increasingly complex ethical challenges. The success of a digital business can no longer be measured solely by financial profits, but also by how the company responsibly manages its resources. These resources include not only financial capital but also human resources, data, the environment, and public trust. Furthermore, it was stated that unethical business practices, such as the exploitation of personal data, environmental pollution, and unfairness in the supply chain, have the potential to damage a company’s reputation and undermine consumer trust. Therefore, companies are required to be able to build business models that uphold the principles of ethics, transparency, and sustainability, while remaining adaptive to technological changes.

This public lecture also discussed various current issues and case studies of companies deemed successful in implementing ethical business models in the digital era, including the challenges and opportunities they face in resource management. Through this discussion, students were encouraged to think critically and strategically in designing digital businesses that are not only innovative and competitive, but also provide long-term value for all stakeholders. Through this public lecture, the Bunda Mulia University Master of Management Study Program hopes that students will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of ethics in digital business, be able to identify challenges and opportunities in building responsible business models, and be able to apply ethical and sustainable principles in the development of digital businesses in the future. This activity also emphasized Bunda Mulia University’s commitment to producing graduates who not only excel academically and professionally, but also possess integrity and social awareness in facing the dynamics of global business in the digital era.
