Tangerang, November 10, 2025. The Faculty of Technology and Design held a Public Lecture and Workshop themed “The GPU-Accelerated Creative Lab: A Blueprint for Next-Gen Animation, Rendering, and AI” as part of an effort to strengthen academics’ understanding of technological developments that drive the transformation of the global creative industry. This activity presented Professor Pao-Ann Hsiung from National Chung Cheng University (NCCU), Taiwan, as the main speaker. The event was attended by lecturers from Bunda Mulia University from the Ancol Campus and Serpong Campus.
Current developments in animation, VFX, architectural design, and game development increasingly require high-level computing support, along with the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence in production processes. Despite its significant potential, the application of GPU-based technology remains uneven in educational settings, primarily due to limited infrastructure and the need to improve technological literacy. This activity received a very positive response. The material was deemed relevant to both academic needs and the development of the creative industry, while the implementation process was deemed well-run and conducive. Participants expressed high appreciation for the mastery of the material, the clarity of delivery, and the methods used by the speakers, which were deemed capable of enriching technical and conceptual understanding of the use of GPUs in the creative process. Participants considered this activity useful in providing practical insights, opening new perspectives regarding technological transformation in the creative industry, and strengthening their readiness to integrate this technology into learning and research activities. The Faculty of Technology and Design hopes that this activity will strengthen the readiness of academics to meet the needs of the technology-based creative industry, while supporting the development of competent human resources in the fields of design and digital technology.
