In the era of increasingly rapid digital transformation, technology is no longer just a supporting tool, but a key driver in creating business value. However, the biggest challenge for many organizations is how to bridge strategy with digital operations so that technology investments truly produce real impact. The Management Study Program and the Digital Business Study Program at Bunda Mulia University prepared students to face digital transformation by holding a hybrid public lecture entitled “The UBM Studium Generale Series 023 – Bridging Digital Strategy and Operations: Turning Technology into Business Impact” on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Bunda Mulia University’s Ancol and Serpong campuses. The activity, initiated by the Management Study Program and the Digital Business Study Program, was attended by students from the Ancol and Serpong campuses. The resource person presented at this public lecture was Prof. Andreas Schroeder., Professor of Digital Strategy and Service Innovation at Lancaster University Management School, England . He earned his doctorate in management information systems (Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Victoria University of Wellington, Study abroad program, Environmental Engineering Technology/Environmental from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Environmental and Resource Management from Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Senftenberg. He also has extensive academic experience as a lecturer and researcher in the field of Operations Management and Information Systems, with a focus on the direct impact on organizational practices. Much of Prof. Andreas’s work revolves around “servitization,” which refers to the transformation of product-focused producers as they develop and compete through offering high-value services.
This activity is specifically designed to bridge the conceptual understanding of digital business strategy with its practical application in the operational world. Through this studium generale, students will be invited to analyze how a digital vision can be translated into concrete actions that provide positive and measurable impacts for businesses, as well as preparing them to become future leaders capable of navigating the complexities of the business world in the digital era.
Bunda Mulia University itself has received Superior accreditation from the National Accreditation Board. BAN-PT and international institutional accreditation from the German Accreditation Board ASIIN. This public lecture demonstrates UBM’s commitment to supporting students to develop and excel in transforming technology into tangible business outcomes.
