Jakarta, November 1, 2025 — The Buddhist Student Association (KMB) of Bunda Mulia University (UBM) Ancol and Serpong Campuses held the Kathina Puja 2569 BE / 2025 celebration with the theme “Blessings of Giving, Joy of Sharing” . This activity became a forum for togetherness between Sangha members, students, and committee members from both campuses. The celebration, which was held at The UBM Hall, 8th Floor, Ancol Campus, was attended by 118 participants and 12 Sangha members. The theme “ Blessings of Giving, Joy of Sharing ” emphasized that the act of giving not only brings happiness to the recipient, but also fosters joy in the heart of the giver.

Kathina Day is one of the major Buddhist holidays, celebrated after the end of Vassa, the rainy season retreat for members of the Sangha. This occasion is an opportunity for Buddhists to give alms as a form of respect and support for the lives of monks and nuns. The alms given typically include food, medicine, or daily necessities that support the practice of Dhamma.

The series of activities began with the presence of participants, singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya, and the KMB March. The event then opened with remarks from the Chief Executive, the General Chairperson of KMB Ancol, and the General Chairperson of KMB Serpong. The highlight of the event was filled with worship, meditation, and the recitation of the Aradhana Dhammadesana paritta , followed by a Dhammadesana session by Venerable Bhikkhu Abhipunno Thera. In this session, participants received Dhamma advice that provided enlightenment and encouragement in living their daily lives. The activity also filled with the Sanghadana tradition and the giving of Amisa Puja as a form of respect for the Sangha.

In closing, the event continued with the bestowal of merit, a blessing session, and joint documentation. After the Sangha members left the room, the activity concluded with a closing service, final attendance, and a special performance from KMB Dhammamitta. This celebration not only served as a means to deepen the understanding of the Dhamma, but was also expected to strengthen the sense of brotherhood and kinship among UBM Buddhist students. Through the Kathina Puja moment, KMB Dhammamitta hoped that the values of sharing and togetherness could continue to grow within the campus environment. Finally, KMB Dhammamitta delivered a prayer, “Sabbe Satta Bhavantu Sukhitatta. May all beings be happy. Sadhu… Sadhu… Sadhu… Sotthi Hotu, Namo Buddhaya, Namo Amitofo.”
