Bunda Mulia University has held a public lecture entitled “Retail Advertising in Action: Where Creativity Meets Commerce” on October 1, 2025 at the Lecture Hall of UBM Alam Sutera. This activity is a form of collaboration between the Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program of Bunda Mulia University (UBM) with Pinasthika Creativestival 2025. This event was intended for Retail Advertising class students from DKV as well as students of the Management, Informatics, and Digital Business Study Program, with the hope of expanding cross-disciplinary insights in the world of retail advertising. The Management Study Program has supported this activity through the participation of Management Study Program students in this public lecture.
Our keynote speaker is Jean Tora Thosan, a creative practitioner active in Indonesia’s creative ecosystem. During the lecture, Jean will explore real-world case studies in branding and retail advertising—how brands craft strong identities while delivering effective ad messages that influence consumer preference. Topics include brand storytelling, positioning in consumer memory, integration of digital and offline media, and ad campaigns that not only attract attention but also drive purchase decisions in retail settings.
Additionally, the session will feature the presentation of the Pinasthika competition roadshow, offering students the opportunity to participate in a national creative contest. Those involved will not only expand their industry networks but also challenge their creative abilities in the context of real-world retail advertising.
By combining discussions on up-to-date branding & advertising strategies with competition opportunities, this lecture aims to equip students with practical inspiration and a solid understanding to actively engage in the creative and retail advertising industries of the future.
