Jakarta, September 16, 2025 – The Bunda Mulia University (UBM) Debate Community, Ancol Campus, successfully held a meet and greet event titled “LOTUS Gathering 2025: Grow Stronger, Speak Louder” on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Premiere Room, 2nd Floor, Ancol Campus. The event was attended by around 25 UBM students, consisting of both new and existing members of the Debate Community.
This activity aimed to strengthen relationships among members, help new students integrate into the community, and foster a stronger sense of togetherness in a more relaxed atmosphere outside formal debate sessions. In line with the theme “Grow Stronger, Speak Louder,” the event was expected to build solidarity, encourage active participation, and inspire students to be more confident in expressing their opinions.

The series of activities began with an opening by the Master of Ceremony (MC), who led participants to stand and sing the UBM March. The event continued with welcoming remarks from the Chairperson of the Event, officially marking the start of the program. Participants were then introduced to the Executive Board (BPH) and other committee members of the Debate Community, followed by an ice-breaking session to create a friendly and engaging atmosphere.
One of the most anticipated moments came during the sharing session led by Charlene Chie, a former Executive Board member of the UBM Debate Community. In this session, participants exchanged insights and experiences related to the world of debating. The event continued with a games session, door prize distribution for selected participants, and a group photo session. The entire series concluded with a closing prayer and closing statement from the MC.

The event ran smoothly and was filled with enthusiasm. Participants actively engaged in discussions, shared stories, and built stronger connections with one another. The presence of this gathering not only strengthened bonds among members but also opened opportunities for new ideas that could further develop the UBM Debate Community in the future.
The committee expressed its appreciation and gratitude to the UBM Student Affairs Division, the Debate Community advisor, organizers, committee members, and all participants who supported and took part in this event. It is hoped that LOTUS Gathering will serve as the first step for the UBM Debate Community to continue growing stronger, more innovative, and inspiring in shaping a generation of students who are critical, courageous, and communicative.
