On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program of Universitas Bunda Mulia held a webinar titled “The Role of Children and Youth in Sustainable Tourism.” This online event, conducted via Zoom Meeting, was organized as part of the university’s contribution to National Children’s Day and aimed to raise awareness among young people about the importance of their early involvement in the tourism sector.
The webinar featured four inspiring speakers from diverse backgrounds:
- Edward Tigor Siahaan – Owner of Piltik Coffee, Siborongborong
- Dra. Yodi Donatrin, M.Psi – Psychologist & Director of Human Resources, Esa Unggul University
- Almathea Valezka – MEXT Scholarship Awardee, Japan
- Benarivo Triadi Putra – Co-Founder & CEO of Atourin
The webinar aimed to foster understanding and awareness among children and youth regarding sustainable tourism while introducing them to the various opportunities and challenges within the hospitality industry. Through inspiring talks and sharing sessions, participants were encouraged to see how creativity, collaboration, and social responsibility can contribute to the development of a more sustainable tourism sector. This webinar is expected to be a positive starting point in encouraging greater youth engagement in supporting and advancing Indonesia’s tourism industry sustainably.
