Tangerang, May 10, 2025 – iCare Serpong Campus successfully held one of the events in celebration of iCare’s 18th Anniversary, namely the Tree Planting Workshop, which was open to all students of Bunda Mulia University, Serpong Campus with total of 44 participants attended the event. The workshop took place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, themed “WeCare, WeGrow: Greener Earth with Our Own Hands.” It focused on plant species, particularly found in Indonesia, and offered tips and tricks for effective tree planting. The event was held in Classrooms 1408–1409, 14th Floor of UBM Tower, and on the Basketball Court, 3rd Floor of Alfa Tower.
The activity began with participant registration at the entrance of Classroom 1408. The workshop was opened by the MC, who welcomed all participants and explained the event rules. This was followed by singing the Indonesian national anthem “Indonesia Raya”, the UBM March, and the iCare March.

Opening remarks were then delivered by Ms. Abigail Theodora Tanzil, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist, as the iCare student organization advisor, followed by a speech from Nikita Amelia Valencia, the Event Leader of the Tree Planting Workshop. An ice-breaking session helped to re-focus participants before moving on to the main session.
The workshop material was presented by Mr. Reza Bayu Firmansyah, S.Si., M.Sc., the Sustainability & Conservation Lead at Sebumi, who served as the keynote speaker. His presentation covered various aspects of plant life, correct tree planting methods, and the current state of Indonesia’s forests. In addition to the lecture, he engaged with students by answering their questions about plant life and environmental conservation. The session also included a hands-on tree planting activity, where each participant had the chance to plant their own seedling and take it home.

Following the practical session, a Token of Appreciation was presented to the speaker by Valentine Shen Handoko, Vice Chair of iCare. The workshop concluded with a group photo session involving all participants, the speaker, and the committee, followed by the completion of attendance confirmation and feedback forms.
Through this workshop, we hope to broaden participants’ knowledge and awareness of plant life and forest conditions in Indonesia, so they may be inspired to contribute to environmental preservation through small, meaningful actions.
