LECTURER’S WORKSHOP Basic Training Using SEM PLS in Quantitative Research in Tourism

The Hospitality and Tourism Study Program of Universitas Mulia has held a Lecturer’s Workshop Seminar (Semiloka) with the topic of SmartPLS Training on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. The speaker at this activity was Associate Professor Dr. Rahmat bin Hashim. He is a lecturer at Taylor’s University, Malaysia. This activity will be attended by 12 lecturers from the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program of Universitas Bunda Mulia. The objectives of this seminar are as follows:

1. Introducing the basics of SEM PLS, including the theories, concepts, and terminology used in this technique.
2. Improving the practical skills of lecturers in implementing SEM PLS using software such as SmartPLS so that it can be used in research relevant to their respective fields.
3. Providing insight into the application of SEM PLS in various types of research—be it basic research, applied research, or to support the teaching of statistics and research methodology.
4. Answering challenges that lecturers often face in conducting complex data analysis and helping solve problems arising during the research process.
