Press Release Pengabdian Masyarakat SMK Tarsisius Vireta “BOOST: Building Outstanding Self Through Training”
Oleh Michelle Angela (Mahasiswi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Bunda Mulia Kampus Serpong Angkatan 2023) – Rabu (11/06), Prodi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Bunda Mulia Kampus Serpong kembali melaksanakan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) melalui program bertema “BOOST: Building Outstanding Self Through Training” di SMK Tarsisius Vireta. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membekali siswa-siswi dengan keterampilan komunikasi dan pengembangan diri guna meningkatkan kesiapan mereka menghadapi dunia profesional.
By Michelle Angela (Communication Science Student, Bunda Mulia University, Serpong Campus, Class of 2023) – Wednesday (11/06), the Communication Science Study Program, Bunda Mulia University, Serpong Campus, again carried out Community Service (PKM) activities through a program themed “BOOST: Building Outstanding Self Through Training” at SMK Tarsisius Vireta. This activity aims to equip students with communication and self-development skills to improve their readiness to face the professional world.
Kegiatan dimulai pada pukul 09.00 WIB dan dibuka dengan sambutan dari pihak sekolah. Selanjutnya, sesi pelatihan utama diisi oleh dosen Ilmu Komunikasi UBM, Dr. Patricia Robin, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom., yang membawakan materi mengenai Communication Skills. Dalam sesi ini, peserta dibekali pemahaman dasar seputar komunikasi interpersonal, baik secara verbal maupun nonverbal, serta pentingnya komunikasi interpersonal dalam membangun relasi positif.
The activity started at 09.00 WIB and was opened with a speech from the school. Furthermore, the main training session was filled by UBM Communication Science lecturer, Dr. Patricia Robin, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom., who presented material on Communication Skills. In this session, participants were provided with a basic understanding of interpersonal communication, both verbally and nonverbally, as well as the importance of interpersonal communication in building positive relationships.
Setelah itu, kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan sesi workshop yang dipandu oleh Dosen dan Mahasiswi Prodi Hospitality Pariwisata UBM. Melalui pendekatan praktis dan suasana interaktif, peserta diajak untuk mengeksplorasi potensi diri dan melatih kemampuan dalam menyampaikan ide secara efektif dan percaya diri.
After that, the activity continued with a workshop session guided by Lecturers and Students of the UBM Tourism Hospitality Study Program. Through a practical approach and interactive atmosphere, participants are invited to explore their potential and train their ability to convey ideas effectively and confidently.
Kegiatan ini menjadi wujud nyata kontribusi UBM dalam memberdayakan generasi muda, khususnya di bidang pengembangan soft skills. Harapannya, siswa-siswi SMK Tarsisius Vireta dapat mengaplikasikan ilmu yang diperoleh untuk membangun citra diri yang profesional serta menjadi pribadi yang lebih siap dalam menghadapi tantangan dunia kerja.
This activity is a real manifestation of UBM’s contribution in empowering the younger generation, especially in the field of soft skills development. It is hoped that SMK Tarsisius Vireta students can apply the knowledge they have gained to build a professional self-image and become individuals who are more prepared to face the challenges of the world of work.
