On 5 Dec and 19 Dec 2023, the Ancol and Serpong Campus Hospitality and Tourism Study Program held an Adjunct Professor class for the Tourism Marketing MK presenting Prof. Theodore Benetatos as Dean of Faculty Hospitality & Tourism Metropolitan College Greece. This activity was carried out in a hybrid manner for the Ancol Campus in the Premier Room and TUMK and the Serpong Campus in the Lecturer Hall, 5th Floor.
This activity was attended by Semester 7 study program students from each campus with a total of 150 students. For the 3rd session on 5 December 2023, Prof. Theodore explained that destination marketing is a marketing strategy that aims to promote and increase the attractiveness of a tourism destination. In this material, the focus is given on an in-depth understanding of destination attractiveness, market segmentation, brand development, tourism products, digital marketing, industry partnerships, special events, and performance evaluation. By using this combination of strategies, the goal of destination marketing is to create a positive image of the destination, attract tourists, and have a positive impact on both the growth of the tourism industry and contribution to the local economy.
Meanwhile, the 4th session on 19 Dec 2023 discussed the New Year’s Marketing Plan. The New Year’s Marketing Plan is a strategy designed to take advantage of the New Year’s celebration as an opportunity to promote products or services. In designing this plan, it is necessary to consider several key aspects. First, identify target markets relevant to the New Year’s theme and adjust marketing messages to make them more attractive to consumers who are looking for special experiences. Second, take advantage of social media, digital advertising campaigns, and email marketing to increase visibility and customer interaction
