Gabriella Natalia, an eighth-semester student of Visual Communication Design Program, is making waves on the international design scene. Her eco-friendly packaging design, titled “Save Us,” has secured a coveted spot as a finalist in the prestigious WorldStar Global Packaging Student Awards.
“Save Us” tackles the environmental impact of conventional tissue production by advocating for a switch to bamboo-based tissues. The design features endangered species on the packaging, highlighting the crucial link between sustainable choices and wildlife preservation.
“I was inspired by the fact that the conventional tissue industry contributes to deforestation and habitat loss,” says Gabriella. “Through this design, I hope to encourage people to make the switch to more sustainable bamboo-based tissues.”
Gabriella’s achievement at the WorldStar Global Packaging Student Awards underscores the immense potential of young Indonesian talent in the design field. “Save Us” serves as a powerful testament to how design can transcend aesthetics and deliver impactful messages that benefit the environment.
