Pelatihan Portrait Photography Kenalkan Teknik Pencahayaan dan Komposisi Visual Kepada Siswa SMA Citra Berkat
Tangerang, 6 April 2026 – Program Studi Desain Komunikasi Visual (DKV) Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) Kampus Serpong menyelenggarakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat bertajuk “Pelatihan Portrait Photography Bersama Siswa-Siswi SMA Citra Berkat Citra Raya”. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Ruang M1, Lantai 12 UBM Tower, Universitas Bunda Mulia Kampus Serpong.
Pentingnya Memahami Dasar-Dasar Portrait Photography
Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dasar-dasar fotografi portrait kepada siswa, khususnya dalam penggunaan kamera, pengelolaan pencahayaan buatan (artificial lighting), komposisi visual, serta teknik pengarahan pose.
Materi disampaikan oleh dosen Program Studi DKV dengan dukungan mahasiswa sebagai fasilitator melalui pendekatan pembelajaran partisipatif yang mengombinasikan teori, demonstrasi, dan praktik langsung. Langkah ini memicu ruang kolaborasi aktif demi mempersiapkan pemahaman mendalam sebelum terjun ke industri kreatif rekam gambar.
Edukasi Praktis dan Aplikatif di Studio Profesional
“Kegiatan ini dirancang agar peserta tidak hanya memahami konsep, tetapi juga dapat langsung mencoba dan mengalami proses fotografi secara aplikatif,” ujar Inovensius Hugo Bima Wicaksana, S.Ds., M.Sn., selaku dosen pelaksana.
Dalam sesi praktik, peserta diberi kesempatan untuk mencoba pengoperasian kamera serta pengaturan pencahayaan sederhana dalam simulasi fotografi portrait. Pendampingan dilakukan secara langsung oleh fasilitator untuk membantu peserta memahami teknik dasar secara bertahap dan interaktif.
Pengalaman Berkesan dan Dokumentasi Hasil Karya
Sebagai hasil dari kegiatan ini, setiap peserta memperoleh dokumentasi foto portrait yang telah mereka hasilkan selama sesi praktik. Foto-foto tersebut dapat diunduh oleh peserta sebagai bentuk dokumentasi sekaligus kenang-kenangan dari pengalaman belajar praktis yang telah mereka ikuti.
Antusiasme peserta terlihat jelas sepanjang jalannya evaluasi karya. Seorang peserta kegiatan menyampaikan, “Kami jadi lebih paham bagaimana pencahayaan mempengaruhi hasil foto dan bagaimana mengatur pose agar terlihat lebih menarik.”
Sinergi Kurikulum Melalui Mata Kuliah Media Rekam
Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini juga terintegrasi erat dengan pembelajaran mata kuliah Media Rekam (DKF07) di program studi internal. Integrasi tersebut menjadikannya tidak hanya bermanfaat bagi peserta eksternal, tetapi juga menjadi sarana pembelajaran kontekstual yang nyata bagi mahasiswa DKV UBM.
Melalui kegiatan ini, Universitas Bunda Mulia berharap dapat terus meningkatkan literasi visual generasi muda serta memantik minat besar para siswa terhadap bidang fotografi dan industri kreatif global.
Portrait Photography Training Introduces Lighting and Visual Composition Techniques to SMA Citra Berkat Students
Tangerang, April 6, 2026 – The Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program at Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) Serpong Campus organized a community service activity titled “Pelatihan Portrait Photography Bersama Siswa-Siswi SMA Citra Berkat Citra Raya” (Portrait Photography Training with Students of SMA Citra Berkat Citra Raya). The event took place in Room M1, 12th Floor of UBM Tower, Universitas Bunda Mulia Serpong Campus.
The Importance of Understanding the Fundamentals of Portrait Photography
This activity aimed to introduce the fundamentals of portrait photography to students, focusing on camera usage, artificial lighting management, visual composition, and posing direction techniques.
The material was delivered by lecturers from the DKV Study Program, supported by students serving as facilitators. The training utilized a participatory learning approach that combined theory, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. This approach fostered an active collaborative environment to prepare students with a deep understanding before entering the visual recorded creative industry.
Practical and Applicable Education in a Professional Studio
“This activity is designed so that participants not only understand the concepts but can also directly try and experience the photography process in an applicable way,” said Inovensius Hugo Bima Wicaksana, S.Ds., M.Sn., as the executing lecturer.
During the practical session, participants were given the opportunity to try operating cameras and adjusting simple lighting setups in a portrait photography simulation. Direct guidance was provided by facilitators to help participants grasp the basic techniques step-by-step and interactively.
Memorable Experiences and Artwork Documentation
As a result of this activity, each participant received documentation of the portrait photos they produced during the practical studio session. These photos can be downloaded independently by the participants as a form of documentation and a keepsake of the practical learning experience they completed.
The enthusiasm of the participants was clearly visible throughout the artwork evaluation. One participant shared, “We now better understand how lighting affects the photo results and how to arrange poses to make them look more attractive.”
Curriculum Synergy Through the Recording Media Course
This community service activity is also closely integrated with the learning of the Media Rekam (DKF07) (Recording Media) course in the internal study program. This integration makes the event not only beneficial for external participants but also serves as a real contextual learning tool for UBM DKV students.
Through this activity, Universitas Bunda Mulia hopes to continuously improve the visual literacy of the younger generation while igniting students’ strong interest in photography and the global creative industry.
