Oleh Clara Chyntia Boen dan Michele Aurelia (Mahasiswi Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Angkatan 2025) – Senin (20/04), Himpunan Mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Bunda Mulia Serpong (COMRADE) sukses menggelar kegiatan talkshow bertajuk, “Broadcast & Marketing: On Air or On Brand?”. Kegiatan ini berlangsung di Lecture Hall lt. 5 Alfa Tower pada pukul 13.00 – 15.30 WIB dengan melibatkan berbagai mahasiswa aktif dari Angkatan 2025.
By Clara Chyntia Boen and Michele Aurelia (Communication Studies Students, Class of 2025) – Monday (20/04), the Communication Studies Student Association of Universitas Bunda Mulia Serpong (COMRADE) successfully conducting a talk show titled, “Broadcast & Marketing: On Air or On Brand?”. The event took place at the Lecture Hall on the 5th floor of Alfa Tower from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM WIB, involving active students from the Class of 2025.
Talkshow ini dirancang khusus sebagai panduan strategis bagi mahasiswa ilmu komunikasi, dalam menentukan arah peminatan studi pada semester mendatang. Program studi ilmu komunikasi UBM kini memperkenalkan transformasi peminatan, yakni Digital Communication (sebelumnya Broadcasting) dan Marketing Communication. Kegiatan ini menjadi jembatan informasi agar mahasiswa tidak salah melangkah dalam memiliki paket KRS yang sesuai dengan minat dan rencana karir mereka.
This talk show was specifically designed as a strategic guide for communication studies students in determining their area of specialization for the upcoming semester. The Communication Studies program at UBM has introduced a transformation in its specializations, namely Digital Communication (formerly Broadcasting) and Marketing Communication. This event served as an informational bridge to help students avoid making the wrong decision when selecting their Study Plan (KRS) package in line with their interests and career plans.

Acara diawali dengan pembukaan yang penuh semangat oleh Master of Ceremony (MC) dari UKM Talent MCU. Suasana antusias menyelimuti ruangan saat seluruh peserta bersama-sama menyanyikan lagu kebangsaan Indonesia Raya dan dilanjutkan dengan Mars Universitas Bunda Mulia. Rangkaian acara kemudian diteruskan dengan sesi kata sambutan yang diawali oleh Ms. Kristin Nomleni, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom., selaku Pembina COMRADE. Dalam sambutannya, beliau menekankan pentingnya bagi mahasiswa untuk memahami karakteristik tiap peminatan sejak dini.
The event began with an enthusiastic opening by the Master of Ceremony (MC) from the MCU Talent Student Activity Unit. A spirited atmosphere filled the room as all participants sang the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by the Universitas Bunda Mulia March. The program then continued with opening remarks, starting with Ms. Kristin Nomleni, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom., as the advisor of COMRADE. In her speech, she emphasized the importance for students to understand the characteristics of each specialization from an early stage.
Sambutan hangat juga diberikan oleh Ketua COMRADE dan Ketua Panitia Pelaksana, yang menyampaikan apresiasi atas antusiasme peserta serta harapan agar talkshow ini menjadi arah bagi mahasiswa dalam menentukan masa depan akademik mereka. Selanjutnya terdapat performance dari UKM dance, Biefindc Kampus Serpong dan pemutaran video hasil karya mahasiswa Angkatan 2023.
Warm remarks were also delivered by the Chairperson of COMRADE and the Head of the Organizing Committee, who expressed their appreciation for the participants’ enthusiasm and their hope that the talk show would guide students in shaping their academic future. The event also featured a performance by the Serpong Campus dance student activity unit, Biefindc, and a screening of video works created by the Class of 2023 students.
Memasuki agenda inti, suasana menjadi lebih interaktif saat Ms. Kristin beralih peran menjadi moderator untuk memandu sesi talkshow. Beliau mendampingi dua narasumber hebat yang merupakan alumni berprestasi dari Universitas Bunda Mulia, yaitu Angela Navellia Tjiandra, S.I.Kom, M.Kom. dan Helena Elmydea Shinta, S.I.Kom. Kehadiran para alumni ini memberikan perspektif yang relevan antara dunia perkuliahan dan tuntutan nyata di industri komunikasi saat ini.
Entering the main agenda, the session became more interactive as Ms. Kristin took on the role of moderator to lead the talk show. She was accompanied by two outstanding speakers who are accomplished alumni of Universitas Bunda Mulia, Angela Navellia Tjiandra, S.I.Kom., M.Kom., and Helena Elmydea Shinta, S.I.Kom. Their presence provided relevant insights bridging academic experiences with the real demands of today’s communication industry.

Dalam sesi talkshow tersebut, kedua narasumber berbagi pengalaman inspiratif mengenai perjalanan karir mereka di bidang Digital Communication (Kak Helena) dan Marketing Communication (Kak Angel). Kak Angela dan Kak Helena membedah tuntas bagaimana masing-masing peminatan memberikan keunggulan kompetitif yang berbeda, serta tantangan apa saja yang akan dihadapi mahasiswa di lapangan kerja nantinya. Diskusi ini memberikan gambaran konkret bahwa setiap pilihan paket KRS akan bermuara pada profil profesional yang unik.
In the talk show session, both speakers shared inspiring experiences about their career journeys in Digital Communication (Helena) and Marketing Communication (Angela). They thoroughly explored how each specialization offers distinct competitive advantages, as well as the challenges students may face in the professional field. This discussion provided a concrete illustration that each KRS package choice leads to a unique professional profile.
Dalam sesi tersebut, Kak Helena memberikan satu kalimat inspiratif bagi peserta, “Anda bisa jadi ahli di bidang manapun, yang terasa ini saya banget. Kalau kita memilih karena kita suka, asal mau belajar pasti akan sukses.” Prinsip inilah yang menjadi fondasi Kak Helena dalam berkarya di bidang Digital Communication.
During the session, Helena shared an inspiring message with the participants: “You can become an expert in any field that truly feels like you. If we choose something we love and are willing to keep learning, success will follow.” This principle has become the foundation of her work in Digital Communication.
Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan sesi diskusi tanya jawab yang antusias serta penyerahan cinderamata kepada kedua narasumber sebagai bentuk apresiasi. Kemudian, acara ditutup dengan penjelasan terkait mata kuliah yang akan ditempuh oleh mahasiswa peminatan Broadcast maupun Marketing, informasi dibagikan oleh Virgitta Septyana, S.I.Kom., M.Si
The event continued with an engaging Q&A discussion session, followed by the presentation of tokens of appreciation to both speakers. The program then concluded with an explanation of the courses that students will undertake in both Broadcast and Marketing specializations, delivered by Virgitta Septyana, S.I.Kom., M.Si.
Melalui talkshow “On Air or On Brand?” ini, diharapkan para mahasiswa Angkatan 2025 diharapkan dapat menentukan pilihan paket KRS mereka dengan penuh keyakinan, demi membangun kesiapan karir yang matang di industri komunikasi yang dinamis.
Through the talk show “On Air or On Brand?”, it is hoped that students of the Class of 2025 will be able to confidently determine their KRS package choices, in order to build strong career readiness in the dynamic communication industry.
