KEGIATAN KULIAH UMUM “Animation Production as CG Generalist in Animation Industry” // PUBLIC LECTURE ACTIVITIES “Animation Production as a CG Generalist in the Animation Industry”

Tangerang – Universitas Bunda Mulia sebagai institusi pendidikan tinggi yang berorientasi pada perkembangan dan kebutuhan industri kreatif terus menghadirkan kegiatan yang mendukung peningkatan kompetensi mahasiswanya. Salah satu bentuk dukungan tersebut diwujudkan melalui kuliah umum bertajuk “Animation Production as CG Generalist in Animation Industry”. Kuliah umum ini membahas mengenai peran penting seorang CG Generalist dalam proses produksi animasi 3 dimensi, mulai dari tahap modeling hingga compositing.

Dalam kegiatan ini, hadir pembicara dari industri kreatif yang berpengalaman, yaitu Bapak Dzaki Khamal, yang telah terlibat dalam berbagai proyek bersama klien ternama seperti Toyota, Go-Jek, Daihatsu, serta Marjan. Kuliah umum dibuka dengan pengenalan diri, portofolio (demo reel), serta penjelasan terkait CGI pipeline yang menjadi alur utama dalam produksi animasi 3D. Bapak Dzaki juga menyampaikan berbagai pengalaman profesionalnya selama bekerja di studio Lite VFX pada tahun 2020 hingga 2023.

Lebih lanjut, Bapak Dzaki menjelaskan peran seorang CG Generalist yang dapat menangani berbagai aspek seperti modeling organik dan non-organik, animasi karakter maupun objek, rigging, lighting, rendering hingga integrasi visual melalui compositing. Beliau menekankan bahwa pemahaman terhadap tahapan produksi serta kemampuan beradaptasi dalam berbagai peran menjadi nilai penting untuk dapat masuk ke dalam industri animasi, baik dalam negeri maupun internasional.

Pada sesi akhir, peserta diberikan kesempatan untuk bertanya seputar pengembangan kemampuan dan persiapan karier di bidang CG. Kuliah umum kemudian ditutup dengan pemberian sertifikat kepada pembicara serta sesi dokumentasi bersama. Melalui kuliah umum ini, diharapkan mahasiswa semakin termotivasi untuk mengasah kemampuan teknis dan kreativitas dalam dunia animasi 3 dimensi serta memahami peluang karier yang luas sebagai seorang CG Generalist di masa depan.

Tangerang – Bunda Mulia University, as a higher education institution focused on the development and needs of the creative industry, continues to offer activities to support the development of its students’ competencies. One form of this support was a public lecture titled “Animation Production as a CG Generalist in the Animation Industry.” This public lecture discussed the crucial role of a CG Generalist in the 3D animation production process, from modeling to compositing.

The event featured a speaker from the creative industry, Mr. Dzaki Khamal, who has been involved in various projects with renowned clients such as Toyota, Go-Jek, Daihatsu, and Marjan. The public lecture opened with a self-introduction, a portfolio (demo reel), and an explanation of the CGI pipeline, the main flow in 3D animation production. Mr. Dzaki also shared his professional experiences while working at Lite VFX Studio from 2020 to 2023.

Furthermore, Mr. Dzaki explained the role of a CG Generalist, who can handle various aspects such as organic and inorganic modeling, character and object animation, rigging, lighting, rendering, and visual integration through compositing. He emphasized that understanding the production stages and adapting to various roles are essential for entering the animation industry, both domestically and internationally.

In the final session, participants were given the opportunity to ask questions about skill development and career preparation in the CG field. The lecture concluded with certificates awarded to the speakers and a group documentation session. Through this lecture, it is hoped that students will be further motivated to hone their technical and creative skills in the world of 3D animation and understand the broad career opportunities available as a CG Generalist in the future.
