


Tangerang, 1 Agustus 2025 – Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) Kampus Serpong melalui Program Studi Desain Komunikasi Visual (DKV) menyelenggarakan kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) bertajuk “Pelatihan Melukis di Atas Media Kanvas Totebag” pada Rabu, 16 Juli 2025. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 19 siswa dari SMA Penabur Gading Serpong dan berlangsung di Ruang M1, UBM Tower lantai 12, Kampus Serpong.
Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kreativitas siswa melalui eksplorasi seni rupa terapan yang diaplikasikan langsung pada media totebag berbahan kanvas. Dalam pelatihan ini, siswa dibimbing secara langsung oleh dosen DKV Universitas Bunda Mulia, Shierly Everlin, S.Ds., M.Sn. dan Hendi Thamrin, S.Ds., M.M., C.CC., serta didampingi oleh dua mahasiswa pelaksana dari program studi DKV.
Melalui sesi pengenalan teknik dasar melukis, pemilihan warna, serta komposisi desain visual, siswa diberi ruang untuk mengekspresikan ide kreatif mereka dalam bentuk karya seni yang bersifat fungsional. Kegiatan ini juga bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dunia seni dan desain secara aplikatif, sekaligus membangun minat siswa terhadap dunia industri kreatif.

Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) Serpong Campus, through its Visual Communication Design (DKV) Program, held a Community Service Program (PKM) titled “Canvas Totebag Painting Workshop” on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. The event was attended by 19 students from SMA Penabur Gading Serpong and took place at Room M1, UBM Tower 12th floor, Serpong Campus.
The workshop aimed to enhance students’ creativity by exploring applied visual arts, specifically by painting directly on canvas totebags. The training was led by UBM DKV lecturers, Shierly Everlin, S.Ds., M.Sn. and Hendi Thamrin, S.Ds., M.M., C.CC., with support from two student assistants from the Visual Communication Design program.
During the session, students were introduced to basic painting techniques, color selection, and visual composition. They were encouraged to express their creative ideas through functional art, gaining firsthand experience in applying design thinking to everyday objects. This initiative also aimed to inspire interest in the creative industries and introduce students to the academic and professional world of design.
