On Thursday, April 17, 2025, the Accounting Study Program of Universitas Bunda Mulia, Serpong Campus, in collaboration with Mahir Akuntansi, held a Community Service Program at Numeric Gallery, 4th Floor, Bay Walk Mall, Pluit, North Jakarta. This activity invited students from SMK Islam Said Naum and SMK Islam AA. The event took place from 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM (Western Indonesian Time).
The speakers at this event included Mr. Dr. Temy Setiawan, S.E., M.Ak., M.Th., CA., CIBA., CPMA, CSRS., CertDA, ASEAN CPA; Mr. Danu Pradipta Putra, S.E., M.Acc.; and Steven Emmanuel Dharmawan, an 8th-semester student from the Accounting Study Program.
During the event, participants were given both a presentation and simulation related to a business environment. The session began with Mr. Danu Pradipta Putra, S.E., M.Acc., introducing the topic of Accounting Information Systems within companies. This was followed by Mr. Dr. Temy Setiawan, S.E., Ak., M.Ak., CA., CIBA., CPMA, who provided an overview of the modules within an Accounting Information System.
After the presentation, participants were given the opportunity to engage in a simulation covering various business activities, including merchandise ordering, sales, inventory stock-taking, and finance. The participants were divided into four groups, each assigned to one of four simulators. In these simulators, the students from SMK Islam Said Naum and SMK Islam AA were encouraged to take on roles that represent the various functions within the accounting information cycle, such as purchasing, receiving goods, warehousing, and finance.
At each simulator, participants were guided through the activities of each respective function while becoming familiar with the forms and content of documents, records, and authorization levels involved in each process. For example, in the goods receiving section, participants checked the quantity of received goods against the purchase order form, received and signed delivery notes, created a goods receipt report and its copy—where the original was kept for archiving and the copy was submitted to the accounting department as supporting documentation.
The finance department, as one of the most critical components, determines whether payments are eligible to be processed. Therefore, in the fourth simulator, which focused on the finance section, Mr. Temy Setiawan provided an explanation of the business flow from the purchasing function through to the finance function, as previously carried out by the students from SMK Islam Said Naum and SMK Islam AA.
