The event was attended by 322 participants, consisting of 187 students from Bunda Mulia University, Ancol Campus, 110 students from the Serpong Campus, 16 lecturers, and 9 external (public) participants.
This event was a collaboration between the Accounting Study Program at UBM and Hima ACCASIA, along with the Forum Dosen Akuntansi Perguruan Tinggi (FDAPT) Jakarta, the Indonesian Institute of Accountants, the Accounting Educators Forum, and was supported by two Co-Hosts: the Institut Bisnis Nusantara and Universitas Pancasila.
The “Sustainability for All: Collaborative Action for a Better Future” seminar was held in response to the urgent need to create a platform for dialogue and collaboration. The event aimed to bring together various stakeholders, including local communities, educational institutions, businesses, and non-governmental organizations, to formulate innovative and sustainable solutions. All parties, without exception, play a vital role in protecting the environment and creating a better future. By combining the knowledge, experience, and resources of different groups, it is hoped that new ideas will emerge that can be effectively implemented at both the local and international levels.
As part of the commitment to introduce concrete solutions for sustainability, an educational visit to the Mangrove PIK and Mangrove Eco-Tourism Park (TWA) PIK was held. This EcoTourism activity was led by Calvin Gouw (11220002) and assisted by two students from the Environmental Engineering Department of the University of Indonesia, Aurelia Luthfiyah and Fazila Putri Dhiera, who explained the importance of mangrove forests.
This visit provided participants with the opportunity to learn more about the significance of mangrove forests in protecting coastal ecosystems, reducing the impacts of climate change, and providing habitats for biodiversity. The Mangrove PIK forest, part of the mangrove rehabilitation program in North Jakarta, plays a strategic role in maintaining water quality, preventing coastal erosion, and acting as a filter for pollutants that damage the coastal environment.
During the visit, participants were also introduced to the concept of ecotourism and how sustainable management in the mangrove area can bring economic benefits to the local community while supporting environmental conservation. The TWA Mangrove PIK provides safe and educational tourist trails, with an information center offering knowledge about mangrove species and the importance of conservation.
This activity is expected to encourage active community participation in protecting and preserving mangroves, as well as inspire participants to apply sustainability principles in their daily lives. The mangrove planting program, which involves the local community, is also part of this agenda, where participants are invited to directly engage in conservation efforts.
The Accounting Study Program at Bunda Mulia University hopes that through this seminar, more parties will be motivated to collaborate in creating a greener and more sustainable future. The success of conservation efforts and sustainable development requires cooperation from various sectors, and each individual has an essential role in preserving the planet.
