The Management Study Program of Universitas Bunda Mulia participated in The 10th Indonesian Finance Association International Conference, an event organized by PT Bursa Efek Indonesia, PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia, and PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia, and supported by the Financial Services Authority (OJK). With the theme “Sustainable Finance and Its Roles in Shaping Emerging Capital Markets,” this event was part of the commemoration of the 47th anniversary of the reactivation of the Indonesian Capital Market. Lecturers from Universitas Bunda Mulia attended the full two-day event to deepen their understanding of sustainable finance concepts and their roles in developing capital markets.
This online event was an important moment for lecturers to gain new insights and enhance their skills. Over the two days, October 9 and 10, 2024, the conference sessions ran smoothly and successfully.
The event was opened by Prof. Dr. Irwan Adi Ekaputra, representing the Indonesian Finance Association (IFA), Mr. Iman Rachman, the President Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Mr. Mahendra Siregar, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Mr. I. B. Aditya Jayaantara, Acting Deputy Commissioner for Investment Management Supervision of Capital Market and Securities Institutions at the Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK).
The event proceeded with a session led by Ignatius Denny W., Head of Division Business Development 2 at the Indonesia Stock Exchange, discussing companies’ focus on ESG goals and carbon emissions related to corporate regulations and mechanisms.
This was followed by a presentation from academia by Prof. Yenn-Ru Chen, Professor and Associate Dean for International Affairs at National Chengchi University, focusing on ESG from an academic perspective, particularly its benefits and potential opportunities for companies. The session continued with Tao Chen, Ph.D., Associate Professor in Finance at Nanyang Technological University and Vice President of the Asian Finance Institution, who discussed market trends and performance in the era of sustainability and ESG, focusing on investors and companies, and addressing technological factors, including artificial intelligence (AI).
Each session included a Q&A segment moderated effectively, where all questions were comprehensively addressed by the speakers. The participating lecturers actively gained extensive knowledge about the development of the Indonesian capital market and the application of sustainable finance, which will support their academic advancement and professionalism in the fields of management and finance.
