Tangerang, April 28, 2025 – The iCare Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the Serpong Campus has successfully organized a blood donation event for all students, lecturers, and staff at Bunda Mulia University, Serpong Campus. The event was held on Monday, April 28, 2025, in rooms R310 and R311 of Alfa Tower, under the theme “iCare, We Share: Give Blood, Give Life.” Before donating blood, each registered participant was required to complete the registration process in room R311 by filling out the attendance list. This activity was not only intended for participants who had registered online but was also open to the public who wished to register on-site.
In the same room, participants waited for their turn to undergo an initial screening conducted by PMI officers, which included checking blood pressure and hemoglobin (HB) levels. In addition, prospective donors were asked a series of questions regarding their health condition. This screening aimed to ensure that everyone met the eligibility criteria for donating blood. Those who passed the screening were given a blood donor card and directed to Room R310 to proceed with the donation. The blood donation process was carried out on stretchers provided by PMI. Donating blood offers various health benefits, including reducing the risk of both minor and serious illnesses, such as heart disease. Moreover, donors were able to learn their blood type after the process was completed.
After donating, each donor received a care package from PMI, distributed by the event’s consumption committee. In addition, warm sweet tea was served to help donors recover their energy. The event concluded with a group photo session with PMI officers. Out of 76 prospective donors, 36 successfully donated blood. Through this initiative, we hope to serve as a bridge for individuals who want to contribute to social and health-related activities.
