Entrepreneurship Opportunities Through E-Commerce
On Monday, May 13th 2019 Hospitality & Tourism UBM and Hospitality department in association with Alumni & Career Center (ACC) UBM held a seminar titled Entrepreneurship Opportunities Through E-Commerce. The seminar held at The UBM Hall (TUH) UBM Ancol Campus 8th floor. The speaker is Ibu Erine Yovinda, Operations Manager of JD Social Commerce, JD.ID.
The seminar held at 09.30 – 12.00. The participants are students from 4th semester Hospitality and Tourism Program, and 6th semester students from Hospitality Program. The speaker deliver information about ecommerce rapid development in Indonesia and this phenomenon creates opportunities for the new entrepreneur because the smaller investment needed.
Hopefully this seminar will give benefit to the participants, and give additional knowledge and useful for their future.
Preparation Class from End Semester Exam of 2018/2019, Hospitality and Tourism Study Program, Bunda Mulia University – Serpong Campus
Monday, May 13, 2019, the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program held an Exam Preparation Class. This activity is held to prepare for the end of semester examinations.
The course taught is requested by the 4th semester of The Hospitality and Tourism Study Program students. The chosen class is Financial Operation Management. This class is held for all 4th semester students, however they were being divided into 2 sessions so that activities are more conducive. This activity is expected to help the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program students to prepare themselves for the Final Exam of the 2018/2019 Academic Year of the University of Bunda Mulia. Industry Visits to @america Pacific Place Jakarta
The lecturers and students of the Hospitality and Tourism study Program visited the United State of America Cultural Center on April 24, 2019 at @america Pacific Place in Jakarta. On the occasion of this industry visit students of the Hospitality and tourism studies Program to watch a documentary film with title Ella Brennan: Commanding the Table.
The Film follows the story of the History of Ella Brennan in leading a fine-dining restaurant in New Orleans by carrying a fine-dining concept. This Film is very inspiring and has very high education for the knowledge in food and beverages how to lead a restaurant by introducing culture in terms of authentic New Orleans food, as well as in the face of Problems that occur in the operational in the restaurant itself.
On the occasion of this industry visit also the arrival of a guest that is the owner Talita Setyadi from Cafe BEAU which also makes a new breakthrough in the product innovation that combines local Indonesian natural commodities into a food Very unique and innovative.
Overview of The Contemporary Tourism Guiding and Event Industry Seminar
On Saturday, March 30, 2019, 09AM to 12PM, Hospitality and Tourism Study Program of Bunda Mulia University organized the seminar themed “Overview of The Contemporary Tourism Guiding and Event Industry”. This seminar was hosted by Adrianus W. Muntu, lecturer at UBM Hospar Study Program who focused on Travel & MICE specialization. In accordance with the theme, this seminar discusses how sustainability and the phenomenon of the tourism industry in the field of guiding and events occur in Indonesia.
The first speaker is the General Manager of Astrindo Travel Service, M. Yunus Willy. He discussed about the opportunities and ‘tips & tricks’ for the the students when they work in the tour industry as a tour leader. For him, there are so many potential opportunities both in Indonesia and abroad that could be explored if we create an innovations and creativities.
The second speaker is Leon Tabukang, Venue Marketing Manager at JIExpo, Kemayoran, Jakarta. He explained about the MICE activities in Indonesia, especially those that held in his workplace. Opportunities in the MICE sector are also widely open because Indonesia has a great potential of infrastructures and human resources.
At the end of the seminar, many students were encouraged to ask questions. This seminar also opened the students’ insight about how they will move when they go directly into the tourism industry.
Excursion to Hotel The Dharmawangsa Jakarta Program Studi Hospitality dan Pariwisata Serpong Campus
On May, 07th, 2019 4th semester students from Hospitality and Tourism Study Program went to The Dharmawangsa Hotel, Jakarta. 81 students and 2 lecturer held an excursion to get knowledge and skill about Green Hotel Concept Management and Spa Hotel Management applied at Hotel The Dharmawangsa, Jakarta.
The speaker is Mr. Hendi Gharnida as Quality Assurance Manager explained about Green Hotel Management concept and Ms. Listya Suhita as Director of Bimasena Spa, Hotel Dharmawangsa. The event closed with Hotel tour to oversee the facility, rooms, hotel area and photo session.
Local Society Empowerment of Hospitality and Tourism Study Program Bunda Mulia University Serpong Campus “Introducing Basic Tourism for Milenials Generation”
On Saturday, May,04th , 2019 community service was held with the local people and surrounding area at RPTRA Kedoya Utara, West Jakarta. The sharing was brought the subject such as The implementation of the Sapta Pesona socialization and Sadar Wisata, Introducing English Language for tourism, Local Tourism Destination and demonstrating how to make sandwich for breakfast and family.
The sharing was held at the RPTRA Kedoya Utara, all together hel[p with the students and followed by 23 participants. Hopefully this sharing will give them a new knowledge, new experiences, and benefits to the local people at surrounding area and increasing the ability for the future.

The Convention and the preparation of training modules FGD Travel Consultant of the year 2019 this is an invitation from the Department of tourism and culture Government of Jakarta were held on Tuesday, 23 April 2019 in Mandala Room Cultural and Tourism Department Office of DKI Jakarta with the exposure of the team compiling the module are:

This event was attended by more than 5 Bureau of Tourism and travel agents and Tourism education institutions 3. The purpose of this activity is to expose the results of the competency level 3 module preparation for Tour operators. Department of tourism and culture province of DKI Jakarta will soon draw up in the near future to the competence of level 1 and 2 so that it can be used for students as their basic skill.
Control and Logistic by Toko Kopi TUKU Guest Lecturer
On Friday, April 12th 2019 6th semester students of Hospitality and Tourism program BUBM and lecturer participated in Guest Lecturer titled Control and Logistic by Toko Kopi TUKU. The speaker was Pak Eddy Ahadi Wibowo, a purchasing and inventory manager at Toko Kopi TUKU. The lecturer take place in The UBM Hall at UBM Ancol Campus from 01.30 pm – 03.00 pm.
Bapak Eddy shared brief story about Toko Kopi TUKU and continue with the sharing experience about purchasing and inventory at Toko Kopi Tuku. How to manage storage effectively and efficiently both quantities and qualities.
The sharing hopefully will enriched students and lecturer in the knowledge of purchasing and inventory. The training closed with handing over token of appreciation and goodie bag to the speaker, and also photo session.
GUEST LECTURER HUMAN RESOURCES “BECOMING EXECUTIVE SUPERIOR HUMAN RESOUCE MANAGEMENT IN HOSPITALITY FIELDS” HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM STUDY PROGRAM
On Tuesday, April 9, 2019 the Hospitality and Tourism study program at the University of Bunda Mulia held a Guest Lecture, concerning Human Resources in the world of hospitality. Guest Lecture Topics entitled “BECOMING SUPERIOR EXECUTIVE HR MANAGEMENT IN HOSPITALITY” with the background of human resources in Indonesia has increased in number, many graduates from many well-known universities in Indonesia meet the current world of work, but are not balanced with adequate competency from each of the human resources we have, which sometimes impacts on employee motivation which rapidly decreases. with this guest lecture, it will open the horizons of students how to sharpen their abilities and competencies as well as work motivation in this new era.
This activity presents Mr. Made Suwenten (Human Resources Manager of Hotel Dharmawangsa. Some of his strategic positions have been held by him such as Founder Focus Solution Indonesia, Human Resource Director InterContinental Bali Resort, Director of Human Resource Hotel Indonesia Kempinski. Participants consisting of 6th semester students Hospitality and Tourism Universitas Pariwisata Bunda Mulia was very enthusiastic in listening to the presentation given by Mr. Made Suwenten.The Guest Lecture program is one of the seriousness of Universitas Bunda Mulia to always improve the quality of industry-oriented learning, in accordance with the tagline of Universitas Bunda Mulia namely Bridging Education to the Real World.
